Apprenticeship Management
Apprenticeship training is a vital skill development intervention aimed at providing employment opportunities to Indian youth. The Government of India introduced apprenticeship training to the service sectors through optional trades in 2016 via the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). Additionally, the Government instituted the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) in 2006 to offer fresh college graduates the opportunity to undergo apprenticeship training, acquire valuable skills, and advance their careers. Monetary benefits are provided through NAPS and NATS to incentivize employers who engage apprentices.

- Legal Compliance with the Apprenticeship Act of 1961
- Engagement of apprentices in a range of 2.5% to 15% of the total establishment strength, including contractual employees
- Introduction of Optional Trades (for non-ITI/ITI candidates)
- Reimbursement of 25% of the prescribed stipend by the Government of India, up to a maximum of INR 1500 per month per apprentice under NAPS
- Reimbursement of 50% of the prescribed stipend by the Government of India, up to a maximum of INR 4500 per month per apprentice under NATS
- Apprentices are exempt from Provident Fund and ESI scheme coverage
- Apprentice expenses can be funded through CSR Funds
- The On-the-Job Training (OJT) period can extend up to 36 months
